DEFINITION:  This application form applies to all publication projects requesting approval for publication under the Congregational Press logo.  Such requests shall be subject to review by the Congregational Press Publications Board.  All such projects which are approved via this form will be published under the logo of the Congregational Press.

 

ELIGIBILITY:   Those eligible to apply for publication privileges are:

 

     a.  Any member of any member NACCC Church with the endorsement of the

           congregation of his/her church.    

       b.  Any Board, Division, Committee, Commission or official of the NACCC with   

            endorsement of the group.

 

FUNDING:  No financial assistance from the Congregational Press Publications account will be available to underwrite this publication.  Applicant must pay all publishing expenses.

MARKETING  CRITERIA:   The submitting individual or group must provide a marketing plan for the publication, including, but not limited to, the following:

       a.  Market survey indicating the potential sales

       b.  Analysis of the audience sought for the publication

       c.  Time line for preparation of the final draft and distribution

       d.  Anticipated cost and selling price

       e.  Marketing plan for actual sales

       f.   Desired delivery techniques (video, hard cover, CD-ROM, website, etc.)

       g.  Anticipated financial return on the publication

       h.   Publication life forecast (i.e. when should remainder be disposed of)

PUBLICATION  VENUES:  The Board will analyze the proposed publication and include its own analysis of the appropriate delivery technique.  These publishing options  include but are not limited to:

       a.  Hard cover book

       b.  Soft cover book

       c.  Pamphlet

       d.  Video

       e.  CD/ROM

       f.   Website availability for downloading

PUBLISHING DECISIONS:   Based on their appraisal,  the Board will make its decision on publishing the project.  This decision may include:

 

       a.  The project is fundamental to preserve our heritage and must be published in an             

            economically appropriate form regardless of its return on investment

       b. The project is an appropriate publication and is fiscally  sound in the

            recommended publishing medium and is approved.

       c.  The project is not approved as submitted but recommended for a lower cost

             distribution method. e.g.Web-site, CD-ROM

       d.  The project is not approved for publication assistance.

 

Publishing projects which are not approved by the Publications Board will be subject to review by the Executive Committee at the request of the applicants.
